New Adult Passport (16 years and over)

To apply for an adult passport, you must be a Canadian citizen and 16 years of age and over.

  1. Complete the adult application form (paper copies are available in our office).
  2. Include proof of Canadian citizenship (original only).
  3. Include a document to support your identity.
  4. Include two identical passport photos (the name and the complete address of the photographer and the date the photos was taken must be included on the back of one of the photos. Read the full requirements for more information)
  5. Include any valid Canadian travel document issued in your name (i.e. any existing valid passports).
  6. Find a guarantor to sign your application, one of your passport photos and all copies of any supporting identity documents you are submitting with your application.
  7. Find two references to include on your application. Your references must have known you for at least two years. You cannot use a family member or your guarantor as a reference.

The cost of a 5-year adult passport is $120. The cost of a 10-year adult passport is $160.
