On August 3rd, I was happy to host a forum for Cambridge Seniors to share their concerns, questions and ideas with me in order to make senior’s lives better in our community. More than 50 participants came to share their stories with me, not only for themselves, but to improve the experiences of seniors in the future.
Housing security, financial difficulties, stigma, social inclusion, and access to community services are top-of-mind issues for me as a Member of Parliament. That evening, I was able to hear stories and ideas from our community to take with me to Ottawa, to share with my colleagues on the Hill.
I want to sincerely thank all those who were able to join me in August for their help in putting together this report, and sharing their thoughts on how to make Cambridge and Canada a better place for seniors. A special thank you to Marc Serré, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt for helping make this event a possibility.
